November 6, 2011: Idealism at College and the Changing Arctic Environment

We hear from Arthur Kleinman, a professor of medical anthropology at Harvard Medical School and a former Guggenheim fellow. Dr. Kleinman visited campus to speak on idealism and the humanities in higher education.

Since the 1970s, Woods Hole scientist John Hobbie has been traveling to Alaska as part of the Arctic Long-Term Ecological Research project. He says that changes in Alaskan ecosystems show the problem of climate change to be a serious and growing one, in Alaska and beyond.
