February 19, 2012: Civil Resistance and the Arab Spring

This week, civil resistance and the Arab Spring. A little over a year ago this wave of revolutions and unrest in the Arab world began — and they continue to the present day.

We check in with Erica Chenoweth, professor of government at Wesleyan University and author of a book called Why Civil Resistance Works: The Strategic Logic of Nonviolent Conflict.

Plus, we speak with Misagh Parsa, professor of sociology at Dartmouth, who teaches a first year seminar on Twentieth Century Revolutions. He gives us his take on the events of the Arab Spring.
